Well. I'm a bit stunned, my dears. The wool felt giveaway garnered 303 comments. I wish I had new cars for all of you, Oprah style. ;-) What I do have are two little packets of woolly goodness ready to go to two lovely readers, chosen at random:Amy, who said, "What a fun starter package, I love that turquoise color. I only recently discovered your blog and I hope to delve into your archives and check out the tutorials in the near future."
and corvustristis who said, "I've been wanting to give wool felt a try for ages. Thanks so much for the chance!"
Will the two of you please send your mailing addresses to my email address (on the side bar)? And for those of you who asked questions about where to find your own wool felt, I think this post will tell you all you need to know!Me? I'm sewing up a sea of Christmas ornaments for Picnic, while the rain pours down outside. I'm uncharacteristically chipper, given the weather, buoyed as I feel by all your kindness and enthusiasm, so I think that despite gray skies, I'm going to sail right through this work today.
p.s. A few people suggested that I make more of these popular little bundles for my shop. Is that something in which any of you would be interested? (And don't you just love my nerdy refusal to end sentences with prepositions?! Grammar rocks!)

I know exactly what you mean about prepositions. One of my other pet peeves is when commas are left out between what is said to someone and the name of to whom is it said. Do you agree, Melissa?
(It's nearly midnight so this probably doesn't make much sense.)
i love your nerdy refusal. now, will you please come edit my blog? when i first started writing it, my husband would cringe and offer to "fix" things for me. now he just accepts it. good guy that he is. ;)
oh! i think those kits would be a hit in your shop!!
:) Yes, yes. Offering bundles would be wonderful!
I love your grammar...makes me feel normal, knowing that other grammar nerds are out there. Although, I'm admittedly rusty.
oh gosh, if only I understood grammar!
So glad you had so many people show their love of your work by entering your giveaway - no wonder you're feeling extra smiley!
Grammar nerds unite! (Which is not to say we don't ALL make mistakes, me included. Public writing is always a bit of a stress-inducer, no?)
BruiseMouse--that makes total sense!
I would love it if you sold those bundles in your shop.
I would love the option to buy a kit. It makes starting out a wee less intimidating...
yes, yes, yes to the bundles! What a great idea! Although I do still aspire to buy one of your fabulous originals one day too!
Yes, please on the bundles! Thanks for a great blog!
I think those bundles would be a great idea for your shop. It's a great starter kit for someone who has never embroidered with felt before... like me!
The bundles in your shop sounds like a good idea, and I'm loving the look of those Christmas ornaments.
Grammar? Pah! I'm a maths geek :-)
Congrats to the winners! I'm admittedly a wee bit jealous. Love your work!
Congratulations to those lucky winners!
I second the idea of providing those 'starter kits' in your shop. I am keenly interested. As one of the commenters said, it removes some of the intimidation factor.
I also love the fact that you are a grammar nerd. It makes me feel so much better. There are a few things that people do that drive me crazy and they seem to be accepted as the norm, now. Now if I could just have perfect spelling...
Thanks again for such a great blog!
Robin--if I'm being perfectly honest, I'm not a great speller either! Thank goodness for spell check!
LOVE the idea of selling those bundles in your shop- which is awesome, by the way!
I love the ornaments... Maybe some stockings are in the future? I've been trying to come up with a design using your work as an inspiration, but I still feel a bit stuck. Have you made stockings with felt applique before?
Also, I would buy bundles in your shop, I think it's a great idea!
Bethany--I have made a garland/advent calendar of little felt stockings with number applique, for our family, but no full size stockings yet. Definitely a good idea!
Regarding that stuck feeling, sometimes I just sit down with a hoop and some felt scraps and cut and sew until something emerges, with no real plan. I think it's important not to put too much pressure on yourself but just to go for it. Maybe those "bundles" would help folks do that!
Yes, please, to the kits, and no, please, to the preposition-ended sentences.
I would love it if you put those kits in your shop! I'm also with you on the grammar. :)
More bundles? YES, please!!
It's so much easier to jump into a new craft with a kit!
I think selling the bundles is a great idea, and maybe some without hoops (for those of us that have hoops but are overwhelmed by gathering the rest!)
I love love love your blog. Really great work, you are an amazing artist!
Grammar does rock!! I would certainly be interested in buying a kit like this.
1) Happy Birthday (many days late!). Sounds like it was a well-deserved joyful day!
2) Yes! - you should put those kits in your shop. I think people would love a sweet little starter kit like that
:)
Corinne
