Trio (and Laundry Calling)

Despite the persistent grayishness, I somehow managed to get fairly clear photos of this custom trio today. They're all going to a single home, to greet guests in the foyer, above the prettiest deep-red chest of drawers you ever saw. (I sometimes get photos of a client's home before I make a piece for it--I love this. It appeals to my perfectionism...and my voyeurism.)
I have to dash. Whoever had the idea to put buzzers on washing machines was a real pal. Ahem.

oh! love them all, and together they are perfect. great combo of textures and colors. I especially love how you made the tree from concentric layered circles. now I get why you cut so many circles.

Love them! I especially love the hill on the big one--asymmetrical, but still a balanced view. I am in total agreement on the washer buzzer and its evil twin, dryer buzzer.

Thanks, ladies!

Wow! I LOVE the tree in the middle size one. So perfect!

How do your fingers not bleed?! Mine were killing me when I did it by hand... and they aren't nearly as intricate as yours! Maybe its the fusible webbing ("steam-a-seam") I use that's making it harder to pull and push a needle through? Any tips would be great!

Sarah Jane--my fingers do bleed, especially if I'm doing a portrait on canvas, in which case there's a lot of pushing and pulling, as you say. I don't use any webbing or stabilizer, though, so that probably makes it easier with the hoops.

Melissa, these are so gorgeous! I have enlarged the third photo and am just ooo-ing and awe-ing. The balance, colors, and shapes are all so...so...pleasing (for want of a much better word, but I hope you know what I mean.) I am cheered by this grouping and feel uplifted.

Hip, hip, hooray! Well done!

Roberta and NB--thank you, thank you, thank you! (It seemed appropriate to say a "trio" of thanks!)

Melissa these are simply darling! I especially love the one with the big overabundant tree...so sweet!

My dryer has an ON/OFF switch for the buzzer and thank god my washer doesn't have one at all ;)
