Doodle Stitching for Fun and Relaxation

It's been, let's just say, one of those weeks.

Above you can see my chosen method of meditation. Start to panic? Cut a piece of lovely, white organic cotton, and fasten it tight-as-a-drum into the hoop. Begin to lose your temper? Sharpen the pencil to a needle tip, and doodle your heart out on this blank-and-ready surface. A throbbing at the temples? Select the prettiest colors from your drawer-of-floss, and doodle-stitch till your cool returns. (And if it doesn't, add chocolate.) Aaah. Now that's better.

Love it! You're going to have to share how it turns out.

very pretty. too bad my doodles aren't very interesting (not enough to become artwork anyway)

I think ALL doodles are interesting! And the floss colors are so nice, they elevate 'em all. ;-)

i'm so jealous of people who can be productive when they are stressed. something frustrating about being a person that needs to relax in order to relax ;-) beautiful doodle....

And the other side of that coin, my dear, is that I wish I were a person who COULD relax. ;-)

At least your stress translates into productivity! Beautiful doodles!

And the result is so lovely! My doodle, nor embroidery skills would turn out quite like that, though.

Organic poplin is nice for embroidery too. Hopefully you won't have another bad week, but you might like to have some of it on hand?
I would have to skip the chocolate cause it would make my head dizzy.
I will have to come back soon to explore your beautiful embroidered goodenss!
Hope you enjoy some peaceful stitching...

How gorgeous! You are truly gifted. I love your blog, BTW.

Beautiful! I think you should doodle on fabric and then sell them for others to embroider. I will be your first customer!

I'm having fun embroidering the doodles of my 4 year old daughter. We've collaborated on some cute critters together.

Melissa Crowe said...

Oh, that is fun audramarie--and when she gets older, you can let her embroider her own doodles. Annabelle did that last year for a teacher gift.
