This one's for my mom. When I read the Isak Dineson quote, I knew she had to have it on her wall, and the process of creating the appropriate back drop was great fun.

I've simply sewn two scraps of linen (one a sandy cream and the other a sea-ish blue) together on the machine, ironed the seam flat, and attached it securely to the wooden frame, taking care to tug and tighten until I got a nice, straight seam line. I'm the type who likes to use my sharpest pencil to mark the lettering, but you can use
a tidier method if you like.

And then there are the french knots. I know some folks hate 'em, but I want to marry them.

That's a really lovely composition! The sea green sets such a calm mood. I'd never rely considered working with felt or embroidery until I came across your blog. Thank you for sharing your creations!
That is one of my favourite quotes and so beautifully done.
So beautiful, calm and reassuring- I love it! I also love French knots!!!
Beautiful. I LOVE French knots. My grandmother does something called "candlewicking" which involves making patterns and pictures with french knots. I have a quilt that she made for me. :)
So beautiful and that quote is perfect!
Thanks so much ladies. My mom loved it, so that was great!
Beautiful and such a lovely sentiment.
I love this! I thought of my mom right away, I think she needs one too. Thanks for the lovely inspiration!
You're welcome, Elaina!
Lovely! I love french knots, but always forget how to do them ... thank goodness for you tube tutorials!
Vicky--indeed. Annabelle and I struggled through the crocheting of a hat for her father's Christmas present a couple of years back and only managed to produce anything vaguely hat-like due to youtube tutorials! :-)
i just happen to adore french knots, but that quote has possibly just done me in. it is almost ridiculous how absolutely true that is. french knot foam? that's just the icing on the saltwater cake.
Thank you, my dear E.
Love this so! Wish it was available for purchase.
What a beautiful quotation and what a gorgeous way to present it! Bravo!
this is just the quote I needed to read. thank you.
Meesh--I'd be glad to do one as a special order; email me if you're interested.
Thanks, Corinne, my dear.
