Any Asheville folks out there?
I have zero pictures because I left my camera at home in a neck-spasm/tension-headache/prescription-meds induced stupor, but I am currently in Asheville, NC, and I am thinking of moving here in the spring. I'm wondering if I have any readers from here or who have had some serious experience with the area. If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts, make plans to meet up when I return, get your advice on neighborhoods, homeschooling, anything you want to offer. (We have dined like vegan kings and queens since arriving--I can tell you that!

excited for you melissa! and a little jealous:) we are going to asheville for the week after christmas this year. i'm sure you'll find lot's of people who can give you advice. they used to have a free school there, but i believe it is no longer open but they are doing this now:

Asheville is a great town. I lived in Boone for 6 years for undergrad and grad school. Great artsy, cool crowd with lots of cool shops and artists. The weather is nice. It's in a bit of a pocketso its not the extreme weather Boone and other areas of the mountains get. It's also a university town so it has a great vibe. Can't offer much else, but most people who go love it there and don't want to leave. We North Carolinians are great!
oh my gosh....leave maine???? big change for you...I do like the sound of a university town though....and I like artsy towns too.....but no snow......... : (

Alas, I live in NE Ohio, and I'm seriously doubting that you'll ever move here. But it would be really cool if you did. I would gladly employ your daughter as a mentor to my two girls so she could tutor them in How To Be Amazing.
I can tell you that my sister and brother in-law LOVE Ashville and hang out there all the time with his sister (also a vegetarian). They would also like to move there. If you come through Atlanta I can put you up :-) Good luck!
